Perfection of Meditative Concentration

Normally we allow ourselves to chase after the various thoughts that arise in our mind, but these thoughts are not part of the true state of the mind. We just create these thoughts and follow after them in all directions.  It is like having clear water that you stir up so it becomes agitated and unclear. To begin with, the actual nature of the mind is very clear and contains no thoughts.  But the way to realize the clear and natural state of the mind is not to think, “I must give up the thoughts.”  On the contrary, it is to just let the mind be what it is.  Just let it go back to its natural state and  rest within that.
