Today (June 10), Venerable Tulkus, Khenpos, Lamas, monks, nuns, and lay devotees from various monasteries and organizations continuously arrived to pay respects to the physical remains of Kyabje Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche.
They include Venerable Tulku Rinjung Rinpoche, the representative of Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche, and H.E. Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche’s personal attendant Tashi Yulgyal; Venerable Geshe Thupten Jigdol, Chairman of Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal, and Mr. Hom Bahadur Dong, executive director of same ministry; Zilnon Namkhe Dorje of Zurmang monastery.
Many other groups also came, including over one hundred monks and Khenpos from Tergar monastery; forty monks and nuns from Kopan Monastery, including the most senior Geshe; head nuns and over fifty members of the Thrangu Lhaksam Nepal organization. Khenpo Tsulnam, the abbot of Sherabling shedra, also made the long journey from Nyeshang and made lunch and sangha Dana offerings. In addition, Lama Nyima, His Holiness the Karmapa’s teacher at Tsurphu monastery, especially came out of retreat to pay respect to the Kudung. The venerable Kancha Lama, the local head lama of Namo Buddha stupa came to pay respect as well.
