The 32nd Annual Namo Buddha Seminar Successfully Concludes

The five-day-long annual Namo Buddha Seminar, which began on March 18, concluded successfully today on March 22, 2024. The Venerable Choje Lama Wangchuk Rinpoche gave teachings on “Gampopa’s String of Pearls”, which were translated live via Zoom. The seminar took place at the Tara shrine hall of Thrangu Tashi Choling monastery in Boudha, where it originally started.

The Very Venerable Ninth Yongdzin Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche initiated this Namo Buddha Seminar in February 1987, specifically for foreign students interested in learning Buddhism. Since then, Rinpoche continued to give teachings every year. However, in the past few years, it was not held due to Rinpoche’s health condition. Later, it was further postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Rinpoche’s passing into parinirvana.

This year, at the request of the monastery administration, the Venerable Choje Lama agreed to continue the seminar. Thrangu Media organized the seminar under the guidance of Khenpo Chonyi, Gloria Jones, Rinpoche’s teaching coordinator, and with support from the monastery’s discipline master and steward.
