THE 28TH THRANGU MANI DHUNGDRUP PUJA

The 28th Thrangu Mani Dhungdrup Puja was held from April 21 – 30, 2022. We were unable to perform the puja for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The main aim of the puja is to recite 100 million mani mantras of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara and dedicate the merit for the long life of H. H. The 17th Karmapa, The V. V. Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche and all the other great Dharma masters as well as to all sentient beings for good health, long life, prosperity, happiness and world peace.

The Mani Drubchen is an annual event that is held in the shrine hall at Shree Mangal Dvip School In Boudha which was founded by Thrangu Rinpoche for the education of Himalayan children as well as the young monks and nuns.

This year Venerable Tulku Damcho Rinpoche and Choje Lama Wangchuk Tobden along with 500 sangha members performed the treasures of Ratna Lingpa (Thugje ChenpoSangwa Dupa) for ten days. All the Thrangu Monastery monks and nuns performed the prayers and approximately 1,000 lay devotees gathered each day and recited manimantras and made offerings and prayers. We completed the reciting of 100 million mani mantras successfully. Venerable Tulku Damcho was kind enough to bestow the Avalokiteshvara’s empowerment on the 30th of April.

We would especially like to dedicate all the meritaccumulated during the puja to the subsiding of the ongoing pandemic, war and famine all around the world. May all sentient beings be free from suffering.
