The Annual Thrangu Tsedrup Sadhana, Amitayu Prayer for Longevity begins at Namo Buddha

According to past tradition, the annual Thrangu Tsedrup Puja is held during the ninth Tibetan month around Lhabab Duchen. In order for devotees to attend the profound Rinchen Terzö empowerments bestowed by His Eminence Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche later this year, we have moved forward the Tsedrup Puja to take place during the auspicious month of Saga Dawa, following the consecration of the Very Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche’s reliquary stupa and the unveiling of his collected works.

Today (June 13) at the sacred site of Namo Buddha Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, in the monastery’s main shrine hall with Kyabje Rinpoche’s statue which liberates upon sight, the Very Venerable Tulku Damcho Rinpoche and Drupon Khyeu Rinchen led retreat masters, vajra masters, khenpos, lamas, resident lamas of dharma centers, and the assembly of monks and nuns to commence the practice of Tsedrup Tabshe Khajor (Longevity Practice: Union of Skillful Means and Insight) revealed by the great terton Yongey Mingyur Dorje.

On the first day of the Puja, Kyabje Rinpoche’s attendant Solpon Lobsang Dorje made offerings of body, speech, and mind before Rinpoche’s statue and offerings to the Sangha. In addition, Chakzola Yonten Gyamtso and resident lamas of dharma centers also made extensive offerings to the Sangha.
