Consecration of Kyabje Thrangu Rinpoche’s Reliquary Stupa by H.H Tai Situ Rinpoche

On the auspicious morning of June 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche was ceremonially welcomed from his residence, and escorted in a magnificent incense procession to the Great Shrine Hall enshrining the sacred relics of the late Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche.Upon entering the shrine, the radiant offering of butter lamps was inaugurated, ceremonial khatas were offered before the sacred supports, and His Holiness carefully examined the arrangements prepared with devotion and faith. Then, seated upon the lion throne amidst an ocean-like assembly of realized masters, monastics, and devoted disciples—including Tarna Lhatse Rinpoche, Chöje Lama Rinpoche, and Choktrul Damchö Rinpoche—His Holiness presided over the sacred consecration of the reliquary stupa of Kyabje Thrangu Rinpoche and the newly completed temple built as its noble abode.With profound compassion and blessings, His Holiness performed the extensive rituals of purification and consecration. Through the power of enlightened body, speech, and mind, the reliquary stupa and shrine were transformed into a field of immeasurable merit and blessing, a sacred support through which countless beings may accumulate virtue and awaken devotion for generations to come.Following the consecration, representatives of Thrangu Labrang, led by Chöje Lama Rinpoche, offered an elaborate mandala and the Three Sacred Supports. The collected writings of Kyabje Thrangu Rinpoche, complete set of robes, and other offerings were reverently presented before His Holiness. Gifts and tokens of appreciation were then distributed to disciples and members of the community as expressions of gratitude and remembrance for the boundless kindness of the great master whose wisdom and compassion continue to illuminate the world.Later, responding to the sincere requests of local government officials and leaders of the Namo Buddha region, His Holiness granted audience and bestowed precious words of Dharma guidance. He then graciously accepted the midday offering meal.

In the afternoon, His Holiness ascended the lion throne in the main assembly hall and addressed the gathered monastic community and devotees. Speaking with great clarity and compassion, he emphasized that the Three Sets of Vows are the very life-force of the Buddha’s teachings; that study and meditation must remain inseparably united; and that preserving and transmitting the authentic lineage is of the utmost importance for the flourishing of the Dharma in this world.
Most especially, His Holiness spoke of the need to offer heartfelt prayers for the swift return of the incarnation of the precious guru, Kyabje Thrangu Rinpoche, so that he may quickly reappear for the benefit of beings and once again display the complete qualities of an enlightened spiritual guide.
Moved by deep compassion, His Holiness then bestowed the oral transmission of the Prayer for the Swift Return and recited it together with the entire assembly. He declared that through the force of devotion, aspiration, and interdependent auspicious conditions, the causes for the swift appearance of the unmistaken reincarnation of Kyabje Thrangu Rinpoche had been firmly established. These profound words brought great inspiration and hope to all present.
Finally, thousands of monks, nuns, and lay devotees received the blessing of an audience with His Holiness. He bestowed protection cords and blessed objects, planting seeds of liberation in the minds of all who came before him and establishing auspicious connections that will mature in this life and beyond.As the day drew to a close, His Holiness returned joyfully to his residence, leaving behind a profound atmosphere of devotion, blessing, and aspiration. Through the consecration of the sacred reliquary stupa and shrine, the enlightened activity of Kyabje Thrangu Rinpoche continues to shine forth as a source of refuge, inspiration, and benefit for countless beings, while prayers for his swift return resound throughout the hearts of his disciples across the world.
